Interview: The Neuroscience of Safety.

Interview with Larry Wilson (SafeStart) & Cristian Sylvestre (HabitSafe).

The latest neuroscience shows the traditional view of behaviour has been incomplete. A lot happens "under the hood" to drive behaviour that we knew nothing about, until recently.

Modern technology enables us to see brain activity as it happens for the first time in human history. This is a real game changer for understanding humans behaving safely.

Although many safety professionals are aware of the latest brain science, unfortunately, far too many still don’t know what to do with it.

Curious about your average reaction time and how it stacks up? There are many simple online tools that let you test this easily. These "human benchmark" type tests usually involve watching for a visual change and reacting as quickly as possible. It’s a fun way to challenge yourself and see if you can improve your score with a bit of focus. While it's mostly for entertainment, it does give you a little insight into your own processing speed and motor response. It takes just a minute to try, and you might be surprised by your results!
